My most important quality for tutoring is a passion for education. I believe that good learning is based in appreciating the value of the subject matter, and when I teach I strive to make the material relevant to the student. Even students with great willpower do not learn very effectively when they are not interested in the material. I also teach with analogies and comparisons. People learn best by seeing similarities and differences between new concepts and concepts they are familiar with. Even the most difficult concepts can become clear when illuminated by good analogies and comparisons. Many students do not realize that they are just as capable as other students but need to approach the subject from a different angle.

Ever since I was a young girl, I have loved learning.
