Each individual learns in a different manner. Some students are visual learners, while others are better served by a hands-on environment. Using varied instructional strategies is a technique I have practiced when working with students who are struggling with a particular concept or subject matter. The key to learning is to be engaged in and excited about the learning process. If a student is struggling with a particular subject, establishing a connection to that subject is essential. By learning about the student and his or her interests, the educator has a better opportunity to engage and excite that student. This engagement and excitement will only lead to academic success.

A Little Bit About Me...

Although I graduated with a degree in Anthropology, it has always been my career goal to pursue teaching and education and to use my knowledge in Cultural Studies to progress my teaching success. My initial teaching experiences were in working with individuals with mental/developmental disabilities, teaching community behavioral and communication skills. I also have tutored students in the past in English and Social Studies. However, the bulk of my teaching has been in English as a Second Language.
