A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy working with students in small groups, or one-on-one, I believe that in order to help a student succeed in a subject matter in is first necessary to show him/her a real life application of the skill set you are teaching. If you are teaching successive addition or subtractions, the use of a checkbook, and mock purchases, will allow the student to see the value of learning the skill as opposed to simply thinking of it as one more "rote task" she/he must learn to get a passing grade.
I have tutored and mentored in the Seaford School District for 4+ years under the Junior Achievement Program and have worked more informally with my three children and their friends in Math and Science. A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been involved in assisting and helping others in education. I earned a BS in Visual Arts, Minoring in Art Education, as well as BFA in Computer Animation. In addition, I did some tutoring during my graduate studies ,turtoring incoming freshmens for a Summer Bridge Program. The areas of turtoring where in Math and Reading, where me and a Supplemental Instructor would assist the students. Later, I started volunteering for D.C.U.S.A., an Adult Education Program. Then I started working for D.C.U.S.A. Hand & Hand Childcare Center. Their I was an Early Childhood Educator/ Teacher Aid. Monitor and Assiting the childeren and tutoring and helping out the children with homework.
