A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching has always been a passion of mine. I have a strong desire to see each and every child succeed. I believe that all children have the potential to do well if they are given the right tools and are able to use them. I believe in hands-on learning and giving students the opportunity to really experience what they are learning.
I recently graduating from Northwest Christian College with a bachelors of teacher education. I have a license to teach PreK-5th grade and I have a TESOL degree which allows me to teach English as a second language to students in grades K-12. I have taught Sunday School and youth group for eight years. I had two years of Practica and Student Teaching.

My career passion has always been to work with kids. I received a BA degree from the University of Oregon in Family & Human services. I began working right out of college with homeless and runaway street youth as a caseworker for almost 3 years. As you can imagine, this job was heart breaking and emotionally taxing. A Little Bit About Me...

I have recently graduated from Grove City College (PA) with a Bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology. During my undergraduate studies, I was introduced to a curriculum largely in the fields of chemistry, physics, advanced mathematics (calculus I,II,III),genetics and biochemistry. I was exposed to a very rigorous survey of the general sciences with demanding writing requirements. Likewise, I am very proficient at communicating in the language of science. Everyone has a distinct learning style and attitude. I relish the opportunity to present subject matter to students in the precise manner that invokes that "eureka" moment where they finally achieve understanding of something that has frustrated, intimidated, or eluded them. I use humor and positive reinforcement to inspire confidence in my students. I believe that all people can learn, regardless of age or experience. They just need the proper guide.
