My comments on tutoring Special Education : Masters Degree in Special Education

I believe that learners are most successful when they are confident in their abilities. I generally begin by assessing a child's present independent functioning level and slowly building on that. Nothing is more motivating than intrinsic rewards, so I strive to make the learner aware of their growth. I encourage them to celebrate every break through and to minimize the importance of errors. I stress that errors are simply stepping stones to the next level of competence.
I have over thirty years teaching experience in the Chicago Public Schools. I will be graduating from the University of Dayton with a Master's of Education degreee and I have a Bachelor’s degree in History. I love History and want to teach Social Studies in grades 4th-9th.
