A Little Bit About Me...

Students generally perform better with hands-on practice. I provide multiple opportunities for hands-on and guided practice as time permits. Associate new concepts to familiar ones. Our memories are largely associative in nature. Therefore, providing connections from new concepts back to well established ones increases our retention and recall. This is especially important in building up understanding in mathematics. Provide relevant examples. A student who is actively enaged in the lesson will learn more.
For the past two years, I have been working as an adjunct instructor and tutor in mathematics and computer information systems for a local Community College. This experience has been so fulfilling, that I am diligently pursuing a career change from Information Technology professional to teaching. I also taught mathematics for one year at a private school.

When I was young, I chose to pursue a career in Software Engineering because it was a practical and exciting way to make use of my passion for math. After working for nine years, I became a full mother. I began volunteering at the schools every chance I could. When my children left elementary school behind, I realized I wanted to teach math. I have been a middle school teacher of math for 8 years. My positions have included teaching all math subjects from Math 6 to Geometry. I love this profession as my grand parents were Teachers. I came to US to teach but I learned variety of things as how to present the content.
