I am graduating in May 2010 with a undergraduate degree in English Education. I have worked in several school districts as tutor, observer, and student teaching. I have personally worked in the following areas: Speech/Drama, English, and Middle school tutoring. I have worked with students in the 6-12 grades. I have also worked with Southern Nazarene University as a Teacher's Assistant. I have worked close with students and teachers to help students become better communicators, especially in a written aspect.
I believe my job is not to force the student to learn. I want to create a passion for learning (even if student does not like the subject). Students have to take responsibility for learning. The tutors job is to help students reach full potential.

Ownership will also create self-confidence. A good teacher demonstrates faith in their ability to achieve simply by making them part of the process. When asking them ‘what do you think;’ their participation will increase and they will better remember the facts being taught.
