I am currently heading for a BS in Elementary Education while I am home schooling my children. I have home school grades 6-11. I have accomplished raising reading levels within 6 months past 2 grades past level. I have tutored and home schooled children outside my own and have been asked to assist children with reading. I have worked with many different children on many different academic levels. Through my experiences, I have found that any student can be successful. It is my job as an educator to find the style of learning that will benefit each child I work with. Every child is special and all have the potential to excel in academics if given the right tools to work with.
I began tutoring while in high school. I worked with children in Kindergarten and First Grade. I continued tutoring children through two Americorps terms with Communities In Schools in Ardmore, Oklahoma. While in college, I worked as a substitute teacher for the elementary schools in the Ardmore area. A Little Bit About Me...

I have a degree in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science and Statistics. I have 24 years of experience in software development for the U.S. Army. I have done ballistics calculations for nuclear warheads, geometry checks for rocket systems and developed the math procudures to do all the mathematical calculations within the systems developed.
I love math and computer science. I believe all children that loves video games, texting, and the internet can grow to enjoy mathematics afterall that is how all of that was developed. I believe all children wants to learn but sometimes they shut down because it is hard. I can make learning fun and I give them the confidence they need to want to continue learning.
