As a Tougaloo graduate and being a tutor over the years has provided an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of many children. I have always been involved in giving back to my community as well and to serve is indeed important to making a difference. A Little Bit About Me...

It is my belief that all have the right to receive a thorough and complete education. Children who enter the system at kindergarten should be surrounded by an environment where they can achieve their maximum potential. Their curiosity should be stimulated at a young age, and that along with an organized and developed program, will aid these students in disciplining themselves in whatever subject they study. Reading and writing are the cornerstones of education and should always be emphasized above all else. The purpose of education is to prepare a person for life. As educators, we want to make sure that during these years, students are exposed to all that they need for a foundation on which they will build a meaningful career.

A Little Bit About Me...

For the last past six years I have enjoyed my students. They never cease to amaze me with all the many things that they can grasp when you try. I was an assistant in JPS. Tutoring was my job. I have also tutored other grades up to fifth. I really enjoy kids and I always wish the best for them. I have also had to be the actual teacher for the remainder of the school year and did grades and end of the school year things due to the teachers' emergency leave.
My motto is simple: In all of your getting, get an understanding. I truly belive that every child can learn. Even a child with a disadvantage still comes with an advantage because they are always getting some help. It also depends on the child also. We must both be focused on the task at hand and together we must tackle it until it is thoroughly understood.

I graduated cum laude from Jackson State University. I am currently pursuing a master's degree in mass comm/english literature. I have developed extensive grammatical and writing skills by doing research papers for myself as well as assisting fellow peers and other students who had a need for a writer. During the last three years I have tutored and taught education in my church for the purposes of uplifting the educational ministry.
I have a love for education. This is my gift by teaching others what I have been taught throughout my educational life as well as professional life. I am easy going, patient and considerate of others. I don't beleieve in the verbage "slow learners", we all can learn if taught appropriately.
