Experience Summary
I grew up in Spain as my parents were career missionaries. From the time I was young, I have enjoyed teaching and have done it whenever I could. In 13, I taught my younger brother to read. All during high school, I tutored students.
When I went to college, my part-time job was to be the assistant to the Spanish professor and to teach in the language lab.
I taught for many years in schools overseas, in Nicaragua and Spain.
In the U.S. I taught Spanish for 2 years in Piney Woods and 3 years at Clinton High School.
Teaching Style
It is my belief that all have the right to receive a thorough and complete education. Children who enter the system at kindergarten should be surrounded by an environment where they can achieve their maximum potential. Their curiosity should be stimulated at a young age, and that along with an organized and developed program, will aid these students in disciplining themselves in whatever subject they study. Reading and writing are the cornerstones of education and should always be emphasized above all else.
The purpose of education is to prepare a person for life. As educators, we want to make sure that during these years, students are exposed to all that they need for a foundation on which they will build a meaningful career.
