To be honest I have no experience in teaching outside of the college setting. The two years marked denotes my two years in upper division English classes at SVSU where student critiquing was the norm. Beyond helping my friends with their papers I took several classes on teaching and as such have academic experience, but not real world (ie K-12) experience. I have been in several writing workshops that cover a variety of English facets from research writing to creative writing to poetry. This spanned the second two years of my college career. I have also written stories of my own and had them critiqued by teachers and students, so I know firsthand what frustrations can result. I graduated from Saginaw Valley State University with a degree in Secondary Education and am certified in the State of Michigan to teach 6-12th grade English and math. Along with completing student teaching, I have substitute taught in various districts as well as tutored homeschool students. I volunteer at my church as a Sunday School teacher, and during college I participated as a conversation partner in the English as a Second Language program. I am a creative teacher.
