My teaching motto is simple, practice makes perfect. The more you practice solving physics problems the easier it gets. Furthermore, I believe if one is having a tough time solving the problems, one must understand the physical concepts and be comfortable with the mathematics required to solve the problems.
As a graduate student at Rice University, I taught labs for the undergraduate students and was also an exam grader. Furthermore, upon the completion of my doctorate degree in physics, I taught physics for six and a half years at the university level. Following this, I taught mathematics on the high school level and have been a tutor on the high school and middle school level. Thus, I have several years of experience in a teaching or tutoring capacity. As an undergraduate, I completed my degree with a 3.5 grade point average and had all A's and B's during my graduate education.

I love working with children. I especially love teaching them about science and mathematics because I find these subjects so interesting. There are few things more rewarding then seeing it all "click." I like to use diagrams and real life situations to explain subjects. Breaking things down into laymen's terms and reducing intimidation by putting things simply helps most students to grasp difficult topics. I'm a pretty good artist and like drawing diagrams. A Little Bit About Me...

For 1:1 tutoring my teaching style will vary depending on the individual's needs and the topic covered. I try to work at the student’s learning pace in an effort to allow the student time to comprehend and retain what is covered within the session. I am not interested in helping others learn what I know (and love) to find out later that I was "too fast" for them to use the information after the session. Covering any topic outside their natural pace is a complete waste of everyone's time.
I graduated with a 4-year degree in Mech. Eng. in 1997. I was very successful for the next 12 years, in various positions. In 2009, I changed to the IT field. Throughout my undergraduate experience, I worked with many of my fellow students to help them better understand chemistry concepts. I have gained experience in all of the major fields of chemistry including organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry and physical chemistry. I have even completed inorganic/physical chemistry research which I presented to other scientists. I currently work as a chemist, which keeps my skills sharp.
I believe I have a great teaching style which enables me to relate concepts in a way that any new student to chemistry can understand. I love using visual aids to help get new ideas across, since I myself is a visual learner.
