My comments on tutoring TOEFL : I have over 15 years of tutoring and teaching experience, and one of the subjects I teach is English as a Second Language. I was a Language Arts/Literature/English teacher in Saint Joseph School in Dominican Republic; a tutor for the Brigham Young University Language Center for students that were in the English as a International Language Program; have taught TOEFL preparation classes, and conversational English. I teach Beginner, Intermediate and Advance Reading, Writing, and Conversational English. My teaching methods are unique, developed according to the student's need.

I have always enjoyed teaching and helping others to learn. I don't believe in "I can't do it" or "I can't learn". I believe that anyone can learn anything as long as they're willing to learn and put an effort to do so. What is different is that some people have more ability than other to learn certain tasks, but eventually, everyone can learn. It is all a matter of adapting oneself to the student's need and ability to learn. For instance, I received a “D” in math in the second grade. I am extremely flexible with my teaching style. I do not believe in the "one size fits all" approach that seems to be popular in text books and structured lesson plans. I believe it is important for a teacher to be able to shift gears mid lesson or adapt to each student as the need arises.
