My comments on tutoring Life Science : With my Ph.D. in biology (including evolution,historical geology, genetics, and physiology), I am equipped to relate the basics of life science to students, along with an introduction to the logic and methods of science as a whole.

As a teacher and tutor, I focus on developing conceptual knowledge (rather than memorization), and structured study methods, problem-solving techniques, and test-taking skills,including post-test analyses of mistakes as a learning tool. I encourage the student to develop skills appropriate not only to the discipline, but to his or her own personal learning style. A Little Bit About Me...

I have previously worked for an in-home tutoring service where I helped students improve their grades in various subject areas that presented difficulty. The students I have tutored in the past were either in middle or high school. I also have experience as a GED instructor, and one of the best feelings in the world is helping someone receive their GED.
