I believe that learning is the goal of life. While there are successes and failures there is always learning. Teaching is a priveldged position which requires integrity, honesty, humility. Teachers are duty bound to their students. Teaching is more that just imparting subject matter knowledge, it is about advancing a students critical thinking and ideally advancing their sense and belief in themsleves. Continuing education is vital to the success of many engaged in the ever diversifying classroom. Many traditional aspects of education are changing as I learned from other current educators participating in my Transition to Teaching program. A Little Bit About Me...

For the past two years, I have been teaching journal-writing and college classes at the Louisville Comprehensive Care MS Center. Prior to that, I have tutored students ages 7-40 in a various set of topics, primarily math and business subjects.
My preferred style of teaching is student-lead. I believe in the Socratic method, but appreciate following a curriculum, as well. I volunteer at a Montessori school and I know that getting learners of all ages interested and excited about a topic is the key to retention.
