I feel the best way to learn is to not have information force fed, but to allow the individual to glean knowledge and come to an understanding of the subject gradually. A Little Bit About Me...

After doing a study abroad in Japan for a year I was enticed to go back and teach English there. Adjusting to the culture both professionally and personally has been an invaluable experience, and I have discovered the great impact I can make as a teacher coming from another country. In addition to carrying out lessons, I have taken on the role of increasing the awareness of diversity among our Japanese student body, faculty, as well as community. A Little Bit About Me...

I love teaching children. For the younger children, I tend to be more hands on with projects and objects to help them learn. I also believe visual aids are very good. For middle school children learning math and English, I feel like giving them lots of practice problems and going over it together really seems to help. For students in high school it usually depends on the kid. By this age most of them have discovered if they are visual, kinetic, or auditory learners.
