Ashley Frankian- Special Educator, Ell instructor

I am a strategic based teacher that enhances my students learning through finding their own particular learning style. Each student has and individualized learning approach to their studies. Once they find what works for them, they will succeed. It is my job as an educator to help them find that out. I like to use a multi modality approach so that students learn all different types of learning styles, this way they may pick and choose certain styles that work for them. For example, If the students are writing about a short story they have read, to help them get their thoughts on to paper, I would assist them with graphic organizers to prompt them to list of jot down vocabulary words or important people places or things in the story however, in a manner that helps them to do this with a proper beginning, middle and end. Because I have had to meet the needs of so many different students in so many different environments, I am flexible with teaching methods. A lack of resources overseas drove me to be creative and exercise methods of experiential learning: hands-on and engaged learning. I believe in creating a safe and comfortable learning environment for students, with some room for fun. I acknowledge that every student possesses a different learning style and I strive to compliment that, especially while tutoring. I maintain high expectations and expect considerable progress. My hope is that armed with an education, youth will be incorporated into more decision making around the world.
I graduated with honors from a formal university, where I tutored fellow classmates; however, I gained most of my tutoring and teaching experience overseas, in a universal classroom. I have taught youth and a ... read more
