My experience comes from working in mental health and counseling. I have been working with children for more than six years assisting them in developing coping skills, communication skills, anger management skills, as well as improving reading and writing skills. I have a passion to make a difference in the world, and a drive to help others succeed. My life's work has been education. I have a BA in English, an MEd in English Education, and an EdD in Higher Education Leadership. I have taught college English for many years, and I have taught and coached corporate leaders in leadership for many years as well. In addition, I also served in the literacy division of a community college, where I taught GED and Adult High School courses. I have also served as a substitute teacher at all levels.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working with children. I believe that all children can learn, but each child learns in a different way. In order to help a student, you must find out how they learn. You also must find their passion. With this information (passion and learning style), you can help any student succeed. Many of my students have been considered as slow, but once I began working with them, I realized that they just lacked the basic skills. This past year, all of my students have increased at least one grade level in reading and math. Many have achieved grade level performance.
I am always driven to do my very best. This has been indicated as I earned mostly A's in all subjects. I have worked in the business world in marketing and I know the value of education.
