My teaching style tends to be structured in the beginning as I get to know each students strengths and weaknesses and then adapts to each persons needs. I believe that everyone has their own learning style and try to present the material in a manner that encompasses auditory instruction, visual aids, as well as, hands on experience. The benefit of science as a subject matter is that what we know science has been found through hands on experiments. I am a Corporate Finance professional whose true passion is math education. I have a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and a Masters in Business Administration - Finance. In college, I worked as a Teacher's Assistant at my old high school and as a private math tutor for 1-2 years in subjects ranging from algebra to calculus. When I entered college I was immediately drawn to tutor my peers as needed. I worked with the single mom's program at IVC and also did job coaching for the City of Long Beach Disabled program. Once I graduated from college I had the opportunity to join the Boys & Girls Clubs, specifically designing educational and technology programs. I enjoyed tutoring about 50 youth a day. As a result some parents requested that I run a special off hours program at their middle school to tutor the ADHD kids. Every child in that program raised their grades 60% over the course of the semester. Since that time I have honed the methods I have created to work with the "hard to reach" kids and have had tremendous success.
