After having the opportunity to tutor one-on-one and as a whole class, I have discovered that each student learns in a unique way. In the classroom my style is to use the whiteboard spending a little time describing the new material and then going over problems and/or in the case of physics I also include lots of demostrations. I believe most students learn better when then can visuallize the new material or if it is related to their everyday life. I do not use powerpoint presentations I think they are impersonal and I feel somewhat disconnected to the student. I also believe the best way for students to learn is to be engaged, I often ask them during class to do a problem on a piece of paper at their desk.
