My comments on tutoring Musical : French horn player since age 9. Member of American Federation of Musicians Local 238 - 291.

I was a substitute teacher for Wappingers Central School district from April 2013 to June 2014. I taught grades 6 - 12 for a variety of subjects including, but not limited to Social Studies, Spanish, English, Music, and Special Education. One particular position I held was that I was a substitute Spanish teacher at Van Wyck Jr. High School teaching grades 7 - 8 from February to March 2014. As a musician, before moving to the area, I was on the Executive Board of American Federation of Musicians Local 238 - 291. I have been playing French horn for 16 years and guitar for 13 years.

I love to teach and see the ideas light up the eyes of the person who suddenly got a concept. I think teaching should be adaptable and should fit the learning style of the student. Visual tasks, memory games, and hands-on-learning are, in my opinion, the best way to help someone truly learn (versus rote memory). I believe that students can educate teachers just as well as teachers can educate students. I try to remain on-the-level with students in order to make them comfortable. I am very animated; yet, at the same time, I know how to get my information across. I try to be a fun and creative person, and I strive to get that across to students.
As a writer, I have a great passion for the English language. I have experience in both literature and writing through my Bachelor's degree.
