I am a big believer in explaining concepts repeatedly until a student understands so I have a lot of patience. You need to with math. I remember how it was learning all those concepts for the first time. I try to use steps as much as possible so my students always feel like they have a way to get to their destination from any point in a problem. Beyond that there's not to much to say. I'm a firm believer that a person does not truly understand a concept until they have practiced doing problems over and over.

I was introduced into the world of reading at age four. Enhancing my grammar has always been a hobby, in conjunction with reading the dictionary. I've always made stellar grades in English (and other subjects for the matter). I attended a prestigious high school (Hawthorne Math and Science Academy), in which English has to be taken for four years as a graduation requirement. My comments on tutoring Language Arts : I assume this means at the middle school and elementary levels.

Tutored many students during high school and I am currently a 1st year Chemical Engineering student at University of California, Berkeley. In high school, I tutored AP Chemistry, many levels of math, and many other science courses often. I also worked with younger students in middle school on many of the general subjects.
I prefer one on one tutoring so I can adjust how I tutor to each students needs, but I have also done group tutoring before. All in all, I personally want to work in whatever environment will help the student learn most effectively.
