I am currently a Senior at Bethel College. I will recieve a bachelor's in Psychology at May 1, 2011. I have been tutoring since the summer of 2010. I tutored pre-algebra this summer during my internship at Bashor Children's Home in Goshen Indiana. I am currently tutoring College Pre-Algebra at Bethel College. I have excelled in Written Communications 3, Reseach Methods, College Statistics, and the psychology courses that I have taken. I have also taken 4.5 years of Spanish. I am well capable to tutoring in any of the subjects that I have mentioned.
I enjoy tutoring those who are in Middle School or High school. I feel as though they tend to have a higher capacity for sustaining attention. No person learns identically to anyone else, therefore I approach pupils from their learning styles. I engage them, finding out what methods have worked and get a quick generalized understanding of how they learn. I challenge students to their frustration level (Piaget) and modify the situation to ensure success with clear possibilities to expand and learn more and in different ways. Most of the teaching I do involves hearing, visual, kinetic simultaneously ensuring maximum retention.
I achieved my BS in 3.5 years with certifications in Kindergarten and English for secondary education. I have employed multiple skills to teach many disciplines to students. I went on to obtain a B.S. in Education. I took the coursework for Middle and High School endorsements in 4 other subject areas. I work in Remedial Education at a local university currently.

My undergraduate degree is in French however I took extensive coursework in mathematics and chemistry and have a good understanding of all the sciences. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored other students in science courses and lead a laboratory course. These were rewarding experiences as I watched my peers learn and thrive in academics. While working toward my Masters in Environmental Science I was able to teach the laboratory portion of an introductory course for two years. This allowed me to develop lesson plans, tests and quizzes and lab activities. I was also able to tutor two very different high school students in French, algebra and geometry, tutoring one-on-one and learning the challenges and rewards of diverse students.
