My comments on tutoring Poetry : Have wide experience in poetry and have published a couple of personal poems in small literary presses.

I have been a special education teacher in the Apache Junction Unified School District since August 2008 where I began as an inclusion teacher at Thunder Mountain Middle School as an emergency certified special education teacher. In order to maintain my job, I got my master's degree in Cross-Categorical Special Education. I have taught in a self-contained classroom, a resource language arts classroom as well as a co-teacher in Language Arts and Science. I have written many Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and have made sure that students in special education receive the services specified in the IEP. Optimistic communicator sharing a love of reading & writing

Communication is key, so I will look for the specific interests that a particular student has and connect with where their strengths reside. From there we can build on these high points and draw them into other areas where their abilities need improvement.
I worked as a tutor while doing respite work for United Cerebral Palsy of Orange County in California. I am proud to say that the young man I worked with the longest is now finishing his BA in justice studies at Cal State Dominguez Hills. I also tutored as a substitute aid for the Ocean View School District in Orange County, California. After earning my BA in journalism from CSUF I have published in a number of print and online media outlets, and I am currently pursuing an MFA in creative writing.
