Math Tutor With Collegiate Level Experience - Very Patient

I am very patient and take my time explaining things. I like to make sure that my students understand something well before moving on. I find it important that they know the basic concepts before attempting to master the subject. I like to teach using a whiteboard or chalkboard, if possible, allowing the students to interact and work problems until the material is understood.

Learn while having fun. My methods achieve results.

Very relaxed fun. Making the student feel comfortable and letting them figure the solution out on their own with as little imput as possible. Sort of like spotting in weighlifting. I also focus on a holistic method which is about understanding the problem with as little memorization is possible. The idea is if you can understand the concept then it is very easy to apply the answer with very little modification.
Held Study 2 hour sessions with over 10 students 3-5 times per week in Engineering Schools. Classes included: Calculus 1 & 2, Statics and Dynamics. Also did indivdual sessions. Prior to entering graduate and later medical school, I tutored a variety of subjects in the area of mathematics and science. As a PhD candidate, one of the requirements was to assist in teaching the physiology labs, and as an advanced candidate, was given the opportunity to give lectures in physiology to medical and nursing students. My teaching style first involves me putting myself in the shoes of the students and forming my daily teaching in a organized, goal oriented and interesting manner. In math the goal is introduced and the concept taught with probing questions to stimulate their thinking and participation. Mistakes are not uncommon in math as I learned from my professors who were occasionally corrected by students; this gives students an increased confidence toward the mastering of the subject.
