Held Study 2 hour sessions with over 10 students 3-5 times per week in Engineering Schools. Classes included: Calculus 1 & 2, Statics and Dynamics. Also did indivdual sessions. Was highly recommended and considered the best tutoror i Engineering. Have been a financial adivisor so I have held many seminars and had many face to face with clients teaching them about money. Have privately tutored friends and reletives for years. The result has always brought As.
Very relaxed fun. Making the student feel comfortable and letting them figure the solution out on their own with as little imput as possible. Sort of like spotting in weighlifting. I also focus on a holistic method which is about understanding the problem with as little memorization is possible. The idea is if you can understand the concept then it is very easy to apply the answer with very little modification.

Math Tutor With Collegiate Level Experience - Very Patient

I am a well qualified math tutor and have 3 years of tutoring experience at the collegiate level. I was the lead math and engineering tutor for the University of New Mexico's Engineering Student Services (ESS) Department. I finished both my B.S. and M.S. degrees with a 3.4 and 3.6 GPA, respectively. In my time at UNM, I completed 30 hours of math from college algebra up to partial differential equations.

I am convinced, partly because of my own experiences, that the current educational system best serves the needs of the average student. I also believe that it seldom addresses the needs of those students whose learning style is not a good fit with the one size fits all educational system. This may be for a wide variety of reasons, but the result is that the student is left without the needed skill set to compete and what’s worse, left with the message that they are responsible for "not getting it" and are inferior or stupid in some respect. I nearly flunked junior high pre-algebra, and was a mediocre math student in high school. I graduated with a BA in mathematics from Metropolitan State College of Denver. I also hold a minor in Reading and the equivalent of a minor in secondary education. Math teaches logical thinking and I have ultimately loved this aspect about the subject! My reading minor also taught writing techniques though it was being an avid writer myself that allowed me to teach how to write a paper in 30 seconds or less that causes students to write a full page or more in 30 minutes or less.
