I do my best to adapt to how the student learns most efficiently. I also greatly encourage for the student to speak during tutoring sessions; rather than I do all the talking, I believe it is greatly beneficial for the student to partake in discussions and ask questions. I also do my best to incorporate hands-on activities with students. Unfortunately, I've found that many people find science to be intimidating and difficult. It is my goal to show students that science is, in fact, extremely interesting and fun. As an Honor roll student, a student on the Dean's list I was lucky to have graduated early. I taught six graders through opelia. I have also tutored a master's Student through her Statistics. Currently tutoring a student via online on her Senior Algebra for her Liberal Arts degree. I will hold a BA degree come december of 2010. Teaching and working with children not only educates them but it educates myself in the process. I get to touch up on materials that the children are learning, as well as learn better ways to educate students. Patience is what I believe is the most important aspect of teaching. Children can become unfocused very easily. When children are distracted it may be very difficult to get them focused. Taking your time and making sure they refocus, can actually save time. I enjoy earnest and humble students, learning with and from them. I feel uncomfortable not learning laterally as well as vertically, seeing that to be knowledgeable, one must not just memorize but ruminate on what was memorized, making as many lateral connections as expedient.
