My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : I have been using and teaching Microsoft Excel for twenty years.

Have been tutoring for twenty years, and have also taught on a college level for ten. I have taught in a variety of contexts, such as one-on-one, kid's day camp, online and ongoing workshops. My comments on tutoring Microsoft Excel : Business computing class.

I believe in success. There is no guarantee someone will learn on the first try. It's all about enjoying the learning experience and positive reinforcement. I also believe in humor and think that it can help a lot in peoples difficult situations.
I have helped tutor AVID high school students when I was a senior at Cherry Creek High School. I enjoy helping the kids learn and believe that being a tutor would pay it forward since I had so much help from tutors. I always helped my friends out because I was in higher level classes than them some of the times. I also worked with tutors and know how much of a difference they can make. I'm currently studying at CSU and still work with friends on homework if they need help.

An enthusiastic tutor with a PhD in chemistry!

I have found through my 6 years of teaching students, that flexibility is a key component. Explaining a difficult concept to a student should be customized to each individual students' needs. I encourage students to always ask questions even if they think they are stupid. Everyone has to ask those questions at some point in their career! Every single student has already learned a great deal without being taught; an educator’s challenge is to negotiate the various experiences and sociocultural influences to increase student awareness and use of those inherent, autonomous learning capabilities. I worked as a tutor all through college at Iowa State University. I tutored Math (up through Trig), general and organic chemistry, and statistics 101. These were the main classes I taught, but I also did Spanish 1, ecology, and food science/nutrition. I also tutored some high school students in all subjects but mostly math and science.
I love helping people. I believe that no one is stupid just some people are better in some areas than other people. I enjoy helping people learn because I love seeing the "light bulb click on above their head" when they finally grasp a concept. A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching children takes patience and creativity. Each child is different in their attention span and interests. Making each subject important and interesting is one place to start. It is crucial to never let a child give up, and not to give up on them yourself. My goal in teaching is to determine which way the child learns, for example a visual learning may need to draw out spelling words, where an audible learner needs to recite them. I love to find new ways to relate what they are learning with life outside of school and in this way show them how important the subject is.
