I am currently a senior at Missouri State University completing my degree in Secondary English Education. I have experience in tutoring my younger brother in the subjects of English and Reading while he is completing high school. I have helped him for the past 3 years.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have three children who my wife and I have homeschooled over the past ten years. I have an associates degree of applied science and criminal justice and a bs in interdisciplinary studies with an emphasis area on criminology, sociology and business. Not only being a teacher, tutor and mentor to my children I have also taught Sunday school for grades first through fifth. I help mentor teenagers from the church during the summers. I have also used tutors mysef and know how beneficial they are and hope to be as benefial to others as they have been to me. My experience in tutoring computers, German, Spanish, and the higher level English, Math, Science, and Social Studies courses are with my children and friends.

A Little Bit About Me...

I believe teaching should be preparation for the real world outside of school. For that reason I strive to make all assignments relevant, meaningful, and useful to the students. I try to fuel motivation by making the assignments fun and purposeful. I hold students to a high standard as preparation for future jobs (no late work, no coming in to class late, etc.) I believe every student can be reached, but that all students are at different levels and require their own amount of one-on-one help, motivation, challenge, and dedication. Having graduated with a degree in elementary education, I have learned the variety of students' learning styles and know how to target each child's unique style of learning. With a strong background in reading, English, and history throughout high school and college courses, I have been able to use engaging activities and multiple strategies to tutor and teach others. Foreign languages come easy to me as well, and I have particular interest in German and Spanish.
