A Little Bit About Me...

I was employed by the Interior Design department at FSU to teach undergraduate courses, being an instructor of record for the inital course for the department, Design Fundamentals. I have a passion for teaching and learning- it runs in the family as my husband is a middle school science and math teacher. Our parents are lifelong edcuators in Wakulla County. Now that I have earned my Master's degree I would like to continue that family tradition.
I believe that while students may forget specifics of what they are learning, they will never forget how teachers make them feel. I also belive that the best teachers are the ones that make themselves less needed the longer they teach specific studdents. A Little Bit About Me...

The thing I love most about teaching is opening up someones eyes to something new and seeing the "wow" look on their faces. Sometimes certain subject matter is not always easy for a person to learn. I've always appreciated the teacher that went out of their way with a great amount of patience to make sure I understood. I take a lot from the amazing teachers I've had and would hope to be able to pass that on.
I began my higher education at Tallahassee Community College in 1997. After receiving my AA Degree I transferred to F.S.U where I majored in Criminology with a minor in Spanish and graduated in 2003. Since that time, I've worked as a legal assistant/paralegal with different law firms in town. Recently, I decided to return to school and received my certificate in Massage Therapy.

I believe that a good quiet environment with one on one help can open the door for every student to be successful. Both of these degrees have given me a high level of knowledge in many areas such as finance, accounting, math in general, writing, and presentations/projects. As a graduate of a private college, I have always been driven to perform at the top of my game. I have received two Bachelors degrees in both English literature and theater. Early in my collegiate career I gained a position as a teaching assistant (TA) and taught a required first year course for 3 out of my 4 years of college. In this position, I noticed that a lot of writing skills were missing from first year students that I felt that they should hav possessed and created and implemented a collegiate level writing and researching workshop that the college still uses.
