I find that there is something fascinating that we encounter on a daily basis. I enjoy bringing those events to light, and fostering student interest in the world around us. Whether it is a physical phenomenon, an inquiry into a scientific question, or a piece of literature, I believe that the relationship that is developed between the material and the learner is the tool through which real learning occurs. I am and always have been an avid reader. I learned to speak well from my mom who was an English teacher. As a naval officer and training analyst I have developed some skill at writing. My undergraduate college degree is a B.S. in Agricultural Education. This degree included a fair amount of science and so I am qualified to teach biology, chemistry, vocational agriculture, and horticulture. My graduate degree is an M.S. in Educational Administration. I spent ten years in the navy as a naval flight officer with a subspecialty in electronic warfare. I taught general science, physical science and biology two years at an inner city magnet school.
