Economics is one of my top subjects! I majored in the subject in college and have two years tutoring in the subject.

I do not consider myself a teacher but a helper. In my experience, the Socratic method in which I pose probing questions that unlock the student's knowledge is the strongest approach. A student's retention of the material is strongest when the student can teach it, and that's what I aim for. I break down any material the student doesn't understand into terms that are easier to comprehend. Preparedness is expected on the part of the student. I am not a substitute for independent study, and the sessions should not consist of doing homework. I am a resource best used when students have an understanding of what they do need help with.
I have four years of experience as a tutor that I obtained throughout my college experience. Tutoring is a personal joy of mine as I witness students who I've worked with succeed in their academics. It has been the most fulfilling job I've had, and ... read more

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others and showing them something new. I feel a sense of reward when a student of mine realizes that they have a new concept. When the lightbulb comes on it is the best feeling in the world. I believe that given the right tools and the right environment all students can learn anything that they put their minds to. I am not a dictator in my teaching style, more of a teammate. I work alongside students guiding them to the next step. I am a fan of I do, we do, you do. I show them how to do it, we do it together, and finally they show me that they can do it.

A Little Bit About Me...

I tutor based on the individual's learning needs. I have encountered some that were visual learners ad everything had to be drawn/written out. I have also tutored students that can have me explain it and they grasp it easily. My teaching style changes according to the needs of the student because not every one learns the same. I do believe Accounting is a complex field and the student has to have an interest in the field to truly be successful in retaining what they are taught.
While earning my Masters in Accounting, I voluntarily tutored Undergrad students that were earning their Associates or Bachelors in Accounting. The students were enrolled in the local community college (Central Carolina Tech) as well as the University of South Carolina. I have earned an Associates, Bachelors, and Masters which all have concentration in Accounting.

A Little Bit About Me...

I do enjoy teaching and learning with elementary level children. I like to teach interactively asking students questions about the material covered during each educational session. The interactive style enables me to learn more about each students learning style. As much as possible, I try to tailor my teaching technique to a method that works best for the student.
I excelled as a 'teaching' team leader as a student of the Business Management program at the University of Phoenix. I earned my bachelor's degree graduating with a 3.45 GPA. While taking the lead on team-based assignments, I developed a passion for teaching. Assisting others in creating persuasive essays, attention-gripping novels and intellectually researched term papers became a challenge I learned to embrace and enjoy. Education is my passion an on this road of life I am always striving to learn new things. Working with children gives me an opportunity to impart knowledge through their surroundings. My style of teaching is both hands on and hands off, I like to give the child an opportunity to try it on their own and make suggestions. I believe that their voice is also important.
My passion for education drives me to a place, where I desire to teach children the joy in reading. In the past I developed a program to teach reading and mathe through culinary arts.
