I have also, in previous summers, taught college-prep English classes at Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, Washington. I prefer to help individuals learn at their own pace, using their own preferred method of learning: visual, aural, hands-on, or a combination. I use analogies and real world situations that students are familiar with to convey abstract concepts. My teaching style is one of discipline and at the same time hands-on. Students must feel the relevance of the world around them in order to gain an understanding of what's being taught. I work with the individual but never let the focus off of the competition that's waiting. Students must understand that learning is an every day, every moment experience. It's all about how they see the world around them. I love teaching and working with children. The "aha" moment is what I live for. I believe that EVERY student can achieve what they set their mind to with guidance and persistence.

I have tried to apply a balance of patience and diligence to my teaching. I am always hoping for maximum results but, realize that learning is up to the individual and each person has a different learning experience. I also concentrated on English, political science and history while in school. While in college, I was the teaching assistant for advanced reporting and advanced editing, two capstone classes for a bachelor's degree.
