I teach to students' specific learning style. Not all students learn using the same style and I work very hard to meet each students' individual needs.
I have been teaching for more than 35 years. I recently earned my Masters Degree in curriculum and instruction in Literacy. I have obtained certification with that degree a Master Reading Teacher and Reading Specialist. I have studied the best methods students learn and how to deliver instruction to meet their needs. My comments on tutoring Elementary Reading : I read daily with my 6th grader, and he reads as well. I help him read and comprehend the words.

I have been working with a dyslexic kid for about 4 months, and I love it. I not only help him comprehend and understand words, numbers, but I also focus on his weaknesses which is math and english. I don' t do the work for him but I help him when he makes a mistake and helps correct it. I teach him new tricks and ways about going at his work. This way he can have maybe an easier way for him to work the same problems.
I like to be one-on-one, or in a small group. That way the person I am working with gets full attention, and isn't in a classroom setting where they don't get the on-on-one help they could use.
