I spent most of my high school and college career honing my writing and reading ability, and through four years of English classes I have developed excellent writing skills. Additionally, my computer and internet knowledge has grown through my studies and professional work. I feel comfortable with all styles of writing, and enjoy discussing writing and reading with all age groups. I also enjoy studying chemistry and science, and I excelled at both in high school and in college. I have been working with students for a year and a half as an after school specialist with the YMCA and a tutor in the Issaquah area.

A Little Bit About Me...

I treat math phobias and anxiety with respect. I teach students to be relentless when conquering their math problems. With the younger crowd, I often turn it into a game. With older kids and teens, I stress the importance of exposure and repetition.
I've taught in a Preschool classroom at my church for 1 year, and I've been a substitute teacher for the 2nd grade classroom at my church for 2 years. I've homeschooled two children for the past 11 years, and I've spent two years as a math instructor at a homeschool co-op. I've also worked as a tutor for Eastern Washington University's Computer Sciene Department for 2 years, and I've mentored several co-workers in software development over the past 28 years.
