I prefer one-on-one conversation in a question-and-answer format (Socratic method). However, sometimes a straightforward explanation is needed. For math tutoring, the best results come from working through problems step-by-step.
I have been teaching at the college level for 6 years, and I have 2 years of earlier experience at the middle school level as well. My BS in Electrical Engineering enables me to tutor effectively in math and science, and my PhD in Philosophy qualifies me for Science, History, and some writing help (I have published in peer-reviewed journals). I have often tutored privately for friends and family, and they tell me I do a very good job.

With degrees in both Psychology and Religion from Northwestern University in Evanston, IL, combined with the pre-requisites required for Veterinary School entrance, I am well qualified to teach and tutor a variety of subjects. During my college career I also studied engineering, so I am able to tutor advanced math and engineering as well. I have an extensive research background so I am able to assist students with lengthy research papers and laboratory reports. My diverse educational experiences enable me to tutor and teach young children and college students in algebra through calculus, physics, chemistry, biology, German, English, religion and psychology. After twelve semesters of college and a wide variety of courses, my college experience has left me with quite the education and still more to come. I am a Senior attending the University of Central Oklahoma pursuing a bachelor in Applied Computer Science. I have taken such a wide variety of courses in the previous six years that I have completed the major requirements for a bachelor degree in General Studies as well. This degree also stipulates I earn a minor, which I have completed in the area of Mathematics. My particular skills are in the areas of Math, Computers, and Life Science.
