While I am not a teacher by profession, I have successfully tutored a variety of leraners in a variety of subjects, primarily math, english, science. I enjoy working with people and helping them learn in ways that reach them and help them gain understanding and ultimately success. I am positive and creative as well as determined to help each student. I am the mother of 3 children, two with college degrees and one currently in college. I was very involved throughout my children's school years, volunteering in the classroom, tutoring, etc. I have also tutored privately since my children left school. Prior to having children, I was a Systems Analyst for Servistar Corporation, and returned as a consultant for them for three years betweent my first and second children.

My experience in tutoring, substitute teaching, and being an elementary classroom teacher for over one year, my teaching experiences have helped me to instruct students in their learning endeavors. Also, through my love for writing and working on a book along with having an appetite for reading, these additional experiences have also helped me in instructing students in learning. Also I volunteered as a tutor in my local community and developing a summer reading program for our local library. Throughout my career, I have always worked well with others and value the importance of working as a collective toward the task at hand. Effective communication is crucial to success. Understanding this, I have taken it upon myself to become fluent in two languages, Mandarin Chinese and Spanish. It has always been a passion of mine to learn new languages, as well as teach what I have learned to others. At the heart of teaching is Wisdom; the ability to be introspective, retrospective and giving. Throughout my life, I have always found comfort in teaching children. When it comes to learning, their appetites are insatiable, but often we come to road blocks as to how children are to be taught. I am comfortable tutoring lower level math classes, mechanical design, or other engineering classes. Writing classes such as English, literature, or fine arts are fine as well. I have a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace engineering from MIZZOU. I am very proficient in technical editing, critiquing papers and writing technical papers. Hands on, Practice based, through step by step instruction. Visual learning whenever applicable. Geometry, algebra, physics, and some calculus are in my range of teaching. I am very patient as long as the student is trying to learn and cares about the work. Mental support of students is half the battle.
