Experience Summary
My experience in tutoring, substitute teaching, and being an elementary classroom teacher for over one year, my teaching experiences have helped me to instruct students in their learning endeavors. Also, through my love for writing and working on a book along with having an appetite for reading, these additional experiences have also helped me in instructing students in learning. Also I volunteered as a tutor in my local community and developing a summer reading program for our local library.
Teaching Style
In order to reach all students, a teacher must use a variety of teaching techniques to meet the various learning styles of the students and must therefore be both flexible and approachable. Teachers should work more as an aid or guide that facilitate the learning process, rather than as omnipotent instructors who attempt to force knowledge into the minds of their students. Information should not just be passed down as if it is the last and all-knowing word. Instead, the classroom must be student-centered with a high degree of interaction between the students and between the teacher and student.
