I have been a Math and SAT Math tutor since September of 2008. During that time I have had success with countless students of nearly all ages, from as young as 7 to as old as 18. I am 23 years old and just completed my Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics at Rowan University, where I graduated Summa Cum Laude with a 3.96 GPA. I believe my relative youth is not a detriment, but rather a benefit to my students who would often rather learn from somebody who knows what they are going through.

I have found that any student can learn. The key to a student's success is that education must be approached in the correct manner for that individual student. Not all students learn in the same fashion, and that must be considered in planning and implementing lessons. When explaining concepts to students in classes that I sub-taught I felt the best approach was to talk to individual students and use a whiteboard to clearly explain the concepts. I usually would give hints or start the problem, and then I would look for the student to add insight on how to progress.
