Experience Summary
I have a B.S. degree in Meteorology from SUNY College at Oneonta which required a great deal of mathematics, especially in calculus. I have taken calculus I, II, III, ordinary differential equations, general physics I & II, general chemistry I & II, and number theory. Other courses taken that involved mathematics were: physical meteorology, atmospheric dynamics I & II, weather analysis and forecasting I & II, micrometeorology, and remote sensing of the atmosphere. With these courses, I have developed a strong understanding in both math and science. I interned at Teterboro Airport as a Meteorologist in 2005; forecasting for local businesses. I also collected/analyzed data for a severe winter storm that hit the Northeast in 2004.
Teaching Style
I have worked for five years teaching customers how to use cell phones and advanced devices including netbooks, laptops, and wireless internet cards. With very strong analytical skills and very strong concentration skills, I have a very high level of patience and will educate each student thoroughly. Mathematics is a whole different language and I want to help those who want to learn and understand how math can be used to solve certain everyday situations. Some students will need a very high level of math and science when furthering their career path; I want to be able to help them learn and help them be prepared.
