Experienced. Effective. The logical choice.

I have always enjoyed teaching others sharing my love of learning. I find it most effective to use a variety of methods to successfully teach information. Material is best learned when it can be easily understood by the student and has practical applications for everyday life. I am not the type of tutor to just hand out answers to problems. I guide my students down a path of critical thinking, all the while leading them to the answer by asking a series of questions designed to stimulate their thought process. A Little Bit About Me...

Each time I have taught a different age-level I have sought to accommodate myself to the learning style of that particular level, whether psychokinetic for kindergarten and preschool, audio-visual for lower elementary, or verbal-phonemic for upper-level students and adults. It was in the teaching of adults that I encountered my most challenging situations, and even today the pedagogy is not nearly as simple as would appear at face-value. Reference to Ken Pike's tomes on the fundamentals of tagmemics, James Stanfield's affective pointers for students of various emotional statuses, and even the philosophy of Noam Chomsky on English deep structure, were all consulted early and often and at one time or another throughout my career.
