Education is the key to our future and little is more rewarding than being able to have a guiding influence on a young person. I became a scientist because a single college professor ignited my interests in math and science. Everyone is different... we all learn in different ways. My teaching style is to connect with that key way a student likes to learn. I like to make the learning process enjoyable for the student by making the lessons relevant to the student's interests. I like to make learning fun, taking away the mysterious part that inhibits understanding.
Music, mathematics and science are the loves of my life... and they're all three related. I played reed instruments (clarinet and saxophones) professionally in New Orleans in the late 1970s before returning to graduate school to study chemical physics.
