I taught 5 years of high school level science(chemistry, physics, biology, physical science), 3 years at university level, 1 year of chemistry at community college level. . During 5 years of teaching at the high school level, I worked with students rather than just lecturing to them. I developed a student centered understanding of what helps students learn. I brought the course material together in a way that was much easier for students to understand and remember. Student responses showed that they were successful in further pulling together the material to form their own understanding of the course content.

Throughout high school and college, I performed at an academic level well above average. As a result, I often found myself helping my fellow students. As part of my graduate assistantship at Missouri State, I work in the math tutoring lab several hours a week, tutoring (primarily) algebra and calculus students. I also teach MTH 102, which is approximately equivalent to high school Algebra II. My strongest subject is algebra (commutative, homological, or abstract). My degree is in general mathematics so I experienced most forms of mathematics at a high college level. I began tutoring as a freshman in high school. Professionally, I have spent ten years in management in four different industries. I have been told that I explain things well.
1) Give the person you are turtoring an opportunity to tell you where they are having a problem. 2) While working through problems monitor the person you are tutoring to see if there are other problems. 3) Suggest changes. A Little Bit About Me...

Over the last 4-6 years I've had to teach coworkers the intricacies of engine technology (basic hydrocarbon breakdown and nitrogen depleting systems) to basic geometry and electrical circuits ( from creating concentric bends in pipe to large scale automated systems). I have not taught english to an 11th grader in a public school, but I make it a fact to learn everyday and spread the knowledge to whomever i come into contact with and is willing to learn. I have recently been studying and implementing hydrogen generating systems and the effects of injecting it into internal combustion engines.
