I love to work with high school and middle school kids. My teaching style is firm in the sense that I will not do work for the student. I am casual in the sense that I prefer a one-on-one atmosphere to learning and a conversational approach to synthesizing ideas. While working on my bachelor's in psychology I taught for 3 years at an after school and summer science enrichment teacher and coordinator. I then decided to take my love of learning further and obtain a master's degree in teaching, therefore earning my elementary education teaching certificate. While working on my master's degree I tutored pre-k through 12th grade students in all subject areas. After graduation I received a position as a fifth grade classroom teacher in Sumter, SC. I successfully completed my 1st year of teaching last May and am looking forward to getting back to work helping students achieve their personal best.

I am extremely well-rounded. I've taught all levels of high school English, including American Studies Honors (team teaching with a history teacher), freshman Lit & Comp., Creative Writing, sophomore English, college-bound Senior English.
