Generally I will try to ask questions to see which specific points a student needs assistance with and make sure they understand the material on a fundamental level. I also believe that practice and hands-on experiences teach the most, so there tends to be an emphasis on working through problems step-by-step than lecturing. Ultimately I am flexible, and can change my style and routine to accommodate the students' needs.
While at the University of Tulsa I have tutored in both math and chemistry, so I have experience with those subjects in particular. Though I received a bachelors in Psychology I was also pre-med, so I was required to take several heavy science courses as well. As such I am also proficient in several biological subjects.

Junior in high school at Edmond North. I help peers of mine with help that they may need. I am in Pre-Ap Spanish IV, and will be continuing my studies to earn my minor in Spanish. My teaching style completely depends on the learner. In a classroom setting, I am fairly relaxed and ensure that students feel confident and able to communicate without fear. My lessons address each of the learning styles so that every student has the opportunity to utilize their strengths when it comes to processing information. In a one-on-one setting, I tend to teach mostly to the style of the individual student. However, I vary the methods of that style to prevent monotony. Teaching to me is a matter of discovering those small differences in learning style that students may not recognize and having the flexibility to offer a variety of paths to understanding. The goal is conveyance of a particular skill set through whatever means available willingness to offer different approaches of teaching tailored to a particular student's strengths and weaknesses. As a student at Oklahoma State University, I have been fortunate enough to study a vast and varied curriculum. Although I am not an official graduate of OSU, I essentially have earned all the credentials to hold a B.S. in Economics, and next spring I will graduate with a second B.S. in Mathematics.
