I try to relate to the children as best as I can and make the learning fun for them whenever possible. I am easy going, polite and helpful. I also talk to them about other things besides homework and studying, such as personal problems. My students trust me and this makes it easier for me to help them and to teach them. Most of my students were high school freshmen and sophomores.
Currently, I am a systems engineering graduate student at Penn State University. I have earned a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics from SUNY Oswego with minors in applied statistics and philosophy. My last position was as an academic mentor and tutor for AmeriCorps. As a recent graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology, I am excited to begin helping high school and college students with math and science, as well as technical and essay writing. I have earned a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering, and a MS in Engineering Management. This curriculum has enabled me to gain a deep understanding of math and science used in both engineering and business settings.
