After high school, I recognized in myself a desire to work with elementary- and high school-aged children. I have always been at the top of my classes and was heading for an engineering school before I discovered a love for helping kids. I do not have any teaching experience but I spent many summers working with these age groups at camp and enjoy interacting with them. To be honest I have no experience in teaching outside of the college setting. The two years marked denotes my two years in upper division English classes at SVSU where student critiquing was the norm. Beyond helping my friends with their papers I took several classes on teaching and as such have academic experience, but not real world (ie K-12) experience.
