I am a recent graduate of the University of Hartford. I have a dual certification in Special Education and Elementary Education. I have taught in both Urban and Suburban areas in grades K, 1, 2,5,6, and 7. I have also tutored children in grade 4 and peers at the college level. I have tutored all elementary subjects and at the college level I have tutored in English and World History.
I have wanted to be a teacher since I was in elementary school and now that I have graduated I am excited to finally live out my childhood dreams. I am very enthusiastic, patient, and creative. I feel as though all children can learn, it's just a matter of figuring out what learning style best suits them. I truly believe in the use of positive reinforcement whenever possible.

A Little Bit About Me...

I love working and communicating with children. Every child that I have worked with is very different, and each child presents a unique challenge for me to overcome. Allowing the child to experience and discover the new concept usually works the best. I have also found that breaking the new concept down into steps works well. Each step of the education process I try to make as fun as possible for the child. My goal for each child is that they accomplish what is possible for them. I have two college degrees in different areas. I'm interested in meeting new people who have interests into learning sign language. I have three years of teaching experience with the deaf and other individuals who have varies of disabilities. I've taught many people sign language on the side. I also run a Sign Language group that meets to practice and socialize.
I'm a deaf individual with total communication skills. I love meeting new people and building my network. I will teach American Sign Language or English Sign Language.
