I have had teaching responsibilities since I began graduate school. At SUNY at Buffalo, I was an assistant for courses in calculus of a single variable, multivariable calculus, and linear algebra; at SUNY at Brockport, I was the instructor of a course in basic algebra. Currently, I am a graduate student and adjunct instructor at Binghamton University. I have taught calculus of a single variable - both differential calculus and integral calculus, linear algebra, and a course for liberal arts majors. Once in a classroom I realized that I was meant to teach. I love working with students who are challenging and those who challenge me. I believe that I can become a better teacher only by continually challenging myself and my students. The key phrase “engaging students” seems less than what is required in the classroom. I want my students to be engaged but I want them to encompass and enjoy what they are doing as well. A Little Bit About Me...

During my time at the Rochester Institute of Technology, I was a student grader while working towards my B.S. in Computational Mathematics. I obtained my degree with Highest Honors, and an overall GPA of 3.88. I graded mostly college algebra and early calculus. I was required to do the same homework and quizzes the students did, and create answer keys. Then, I would go through each problem and either give full credit for a correct answer and work, or partial credit if needed. By following their work, I was able to see where they made mistakes, and write in notes on what they needed to do. I will be returning to RIT for a second bachelor’s degree, in Industrial Engineering, which also requires a strong math background.
