Currently i am working as tutor for math and biology for TRio services at Idaho State University. As I am an international student, i was also a high school teacher in my home country where i used to teach math, Science and environment. Apart from this, i am working in research in the field of environmental management.
As i believe in learning form the depth of the knowledge, i don't stress on memorizing the existing things, rather i emphasize student on understanding those topics. If some thing is difficult, that actually occurs because the student have not got the full idea of that matter. Once the crux is understood, the problem no more exists. Thus, my teaching style is all about learning form the root of the problem. And most importantly, i want to make the student actively involved in study instead of passive way of studying.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have a strong interest in the sciences of the world. I earned a bachelor degree in ecology including a minor in botany. I also earned a Master degree in biology studying mountain quail. During my undergraduate and graduate education I participated in the GK-12 program as a scientist in residence. I spent 20 hours a week in the middle school and high school setting for two years. The purpose of the GK-12 program was to help increase scientific literacy in southern Idaho. I am keenly aware of the challenges that face middle school and high school students in grasping scientific concepts. I also taught biology at the college level and I have recognized that many students are at different levels of scientific understanding.

I have found that every student has the potential to learn and improve upon their situation if given the right opportunities, surroundings, and support. I love the "lighbulb" look on a child's face which comes not only from "getting it" after a struggle, but also from the boost that moment brings to their self-confidence. I love to teach and see the light go on in a child's head as he or she begins to understand. It is a great joy to see them succeed. I am creative, compassionate, and caring, and will do everything I can to find the "missing pieces" for struggling students. Often, students have been rushed through the basic manipulative/hands-on discovery phase of learning, and have had to memorize rules in order to move on instead of truly understanding. I begin by observing the student, take them back step by step to where their struggles began, and start there.
